The spice is there, but it does not elbow the coffee out of the way. You get a proper cup of coffee first, and a warm, gently spiced finish that belongs in a mug on a cool morning. No marshmallow, no syrup, no regrets.

Brew it in a drip machine, a French press, or a pour-over. It handles a splash of cream beautifully, but it does not need it. For a seasonal move, brew a strong pot, stir in a little cinnamon and brown sugar while it is hot, and top it with frothed milk. October approved, September optional.
