Medium-bodied, with a touch of southern pecans and a hint of cinnamon. That is Austin in a cup.

Taste of Austin is a medium roast that plays it smooth up front and lets the details show up as you drink. The base is mellow and easy, not dark, not sharp, nothing that fights you first thing in the morning. Then the pecans come through, warm and nutty, and just behind them is the faint cinnamon that keeps the cup interesting without turning into dessert.

It is the kind of coffee that works black, because the pecan and cinnamon carry enough on their own that you do not need cream to make it taste like something. If you do add milk, it rounds out into something close to a pecan-cinnamon latte without any of the syrup. Either way, the flavor hangs on until the cup is done.

Ground and ready to go, so there is no grinder step between you and the first pour. Drip, pour-over, French press, it handles all of them without complaint.

The 12-ounce bag is the size to try a new roast without committing to a shelf of pods. If you have been through the Houston Blend and the pecan and want one more corner of Texas, this is the bag.
